Know How

Remote control

The easiest way of a remote control of a tester is based on a digital input/output interface. The tester is started (or also stopped) by a PLC-control and at the end of the test the tester returns the test result back to the PLC.

As an alternative to the digital inputs/outputs the remote control can also be done via a serial RS232 interface, an RS485 bus interface, via USB or the CAN-bus. Windows-tester can additionally be remote controlled via the ProfiBus or Ethernet.

Depending on the tester type the tester or the PLC can take over the control of the matrix. All testers of the GLP2e/i-class and all Windows-tester can control the matrixes themselves. These matrixes can either be directly integrated within the tester or external.
