Protection devices with automatic protection against accidential contact
Test covers are protective devices designed to protect operators from electrical hazards and to prevent contact with the test object during testing. They are available in various designs and sizes to cover almost all applications.
The very extensive range of standard test hoods covers almost all applications. If no suitable standard solution is available in the portfolio, we also manufacture special test covers for you. They offer the same high level of protection and reliability as the standard test covers, but are specially adapted to individual requirements.
SCHLEICH test hoods are a rock-solid, long-lasting purchase for operator hazard reduction. Ergonomics and reliability are at the forefront, thanks to the touch-proof covering of the test objects.
The smooth-running test hood is made of shatterproof, transparent plastic and covers the test object to allow visual observation or inspection during the test. Tests are only possible with the test hood closed and the closed state of the hood is continuously monitored by a dual-channel safety limit switch. It complies with legal requirements and is safety approved.
Closing the test cover starts the test sequence. Opening it while the test is in progress causes the test instrument to abort the test immediately. The test voltage is switched off in the test instrument and the test object is discharged. The discharge process is monitored by the test instrument.
The optional locking keeps the test cover closed:
– until the test object is completely discharged
– until completion of a mechanical movement or rotation
– in the event of a negative test result (n.o.k.)
The test covers can be equipped with individual mechanical holders/adapters for your test specimens. These can be easily mounted on the base plate or interchangeable plates. Connections for contacting the test leads are located inside the hood. The connecting lines to the test instrument are usually connected to the test instrument via secure connectors.
The complete isolation of the test area prevents voltages being exposed outside the enclosure. The operating personnel is optimally protected.
In order to protect sensitive DUTs from electrostatic charging and discharge, the test covers can be made of ESD-materials (for additional charge).
In addition, we also supply you with suitable contacting for the DUTs.
We supply the ideal contacting to suit your type of DUT.
Do you have special requirements for an individual application? Contact us, together we will find a suitable solution for you.
