ActiveX is the name of a software module developed by Microsoft. Via ActiveX-components data can be exchanged between different applications within the PC.

Thus data can for example be exchanged between the tester software and the robot control which is also installed on the tester PC. The tester can also be remote controlled by a PLC software which is installed on the tester PC.
