SCHLEICH is your trusted partner for turnkey testing systems / production facilities

With decades of experience, highly qualified employees, and a detailed understanding of complex projects, SCHLEICH is a reliable partner in the field of test system engineering. Our consistent use of state-of-the-art technologies and our exceptional in-house manufacturing capabilities enable us to deliver modern, turnkey test systems from a single source in the age of Industry 4.0.

Mechanics, control systems, electronics, software, and testing technology—we develop and manufacture solutions tailored precisely to your needs. We rely on state-of-the-art, computer-aided development and manufacturing methods to ensure the highest quality and precision.

We use only proven automation components in our production lines. Depending on the project, either a test PC or a PLC is used to control the system—naturally, with custom-developed control software. We also design the workpiece holders for the pallets specifically for each application and manufacture them entirely in-house.

The result: well-designed, reliable, and high-performance systems that fit seamlessly into your production processes—all from a single source, from start to finish.

Data Storage

Complex system solutions, in particular, require an appropriate data storage strategy. In a large-scale production process with multiple inspection stations, different testing devices can perform inspections autonomously from one production step to the next. Provided that the product or workpiece carrier can be uniquely identified by a serial number, the individual test results from each station are stored in the central database along with this serial number. Our database software retrieves the individual test results and documents them under the serial number of the final product.

This is the foundation for complete traceability.

Fully automated inspection system – integrated into a production line at the customer's site

In the simplest integration scenario, we provide our customers with a complete, ready-to-connect manufacturing cell that can be seamlessly integrated into existing production lines. SCHLEICH handles the entire mechanical and electrical setup—including custom connection solutions tailored precisely to the customer’s product.

The on-site system control manages the process flow so that the carrier holding the test specimen automatically enters the production cell and stops there in a precise position. An integrated lifting unit raises the carrier to the test position, where the test specimen is automatically contacted and then tested.

Whether lifting and contacting are performed by the customer’s system control or directly by the SCHLEICH test cell is flexible—we fully adapt to the desired line architecture and process logic.

The result is an efficient, robust, and fully integrable testing station that can be easily incorporated into virtually any manufacturing environment.

The production cell typically features tunnels or automatic safety doors at the entry and exit points, which reliably prevent operators from interfering during the test.
The video shows the production cell for stator testing.

Fully automated testing system for micro-stators

The entire production cell was designed and manufactured entirely by SCHLEICH—including the complete safety enclosure and conveyor systems. Thanks to its modular architecture and the high flexibility of the GLP2-MODULAR, the system not only performs precise testing but also handles the entire process control: from the conveyor system and positioning to the control of the X, Y, and Z axes of the test cell. No additional PLC is required for this.

The fully automated process consists of the following steps:

  • Insertion of the product carrier with 20 nests into the test cell. In each nest there is a Motor.
  • Automatic removal of an untested motor from its cradle and precise positioning in the test adapter using the 3-axis system.
  • Automatic motor connection – including integrated connection monitoring.
  • Electrical and functional testing of the motor.
  • Nameplate printing and automatic application of the label to the Motor.
  • Return transfer of a functional motor to the corresponding slot on the product carrier.
  • Diverting a non-conforming motor to a separate reject conveyor belt.
  • Repeat the test cycle until all motors in all nests have been tested.
  • Eject the full product carrier and load the next one.

Single-user testing systems from a single source

Single-station testing systems typically consist of a testing unit and additional components such as test enclosures, workbenches, special contact units, or junction boxes. At SCHLEICH, all these elements come from a single source: We develop, design, and manufacture all components ourselves—tailored precisely to your testing process. And they are 100% Made in Germany.

The modules can be configured as a complete, integrated unit or supplied as separate system components. Even with separate units, the plug-in, tested cabling is, of course, included in the scope of delivery. This ensures that you receive a reliable, ready-to-use, and fully turnkey test system.

Whatever you need to test—SCHLEICH provides the right single-station testing system: custom-designed, fully manufactured, and perfectly tailored to your requirements.

Testing system for hairpins – maximum safety for the e-Motor

Hairpins are at the heart of modern electric drives: they determine the performance, efficiency, and reliability of the entire electric motor. A single defective hairpin can later lead to serious malfunctions, a loss of power—or, in the worst case, failure of the entire electric motor.

To prevent this, hairpins are tested under realistic conditions using our testing system.

During high-voltage testing, the hairpins are placed in what is known as a ball bath: a bath of conductive stainless steel balls that completely surrounds the hairpin. This medium acts as a perfectly fitting, all-around electrical contact. This allows for the detection of insulation faults, microcracks, and material defects that would remain undetected in conventional test setups.

The result: 100% tested hairpins, guaranteed safe windings, and maximum service life for the electric motor.

Your benefits at a glance:

  • Fully automated high-voltage testing in a ball bath for maximum measurement reliability
  • Detection of even the slightest insulation defects and manufacturing flaws
  • Complete documentation for mass production and traceability
  • Greater reliability and operational reliability for the entire e-Motor
  • Ideal for automotive mass production and quality control laboratories
