Safety light curtains are protective devices that shield operators from electrical hazards and prevent contact with the test object during testing. They are available in various designs and sizes to cover virtually all applications.

Perfect and reliable protection against accidental contact
SCHLEICH test benches with safety light curtains are a sound and durable investment for preventing hazards to operating personnel. Ergonomics and reliability are paramount.
The use of an optoelectronic safety light curtain does not impair handling. It increases productivity while ensuring maximum safety. Should someone fall into the test area, the safety light curtain ensures that the test object is de-energized and stationary in time. Electric motors with freely accessible shaft ends, for example, must stop very quickly before they can be touched. A corresponding reaction time must be taken into account during the design process.
The minimum safety distance between the optical protective device and the outer contour of the test object must be precisely determined. We will design the exact setup and the necessary safety distances for you.
Optical safety devices can only identify cables protruding from the test chamber with considerable effort. Thin measuring leads may not be detected. This can lead to dangerous voltage leakage to the outside.
These factors may necessitate additional safety measures. Connecting cables to the test instrument are typically permanently attached at the rear. Connection to the test instrument is made via connectors.
To protect sensitive test objects from electrostatic charging and discharging, test benches made of ESD materials can be used for an additional charge.
