Precision for verifying measurement technology.

Calibration of test equipment requires not only precise calibration measuring instruments and sources, but also calibration resistors. These are used to generate test currents for the various testing methods. This process verifies the extent to which the voltage and current readings displayed by the test equipment being calibrated correspond to the readings of the external calibration instrument.

Of course, slight deviations within a percentage tolerance are always permitted. The permissible deviations for each test method are specified in our calibration forms.

These calibration resistors are characterized by high precision, as well as high temperature and long-term stability. Calibration resistors for high test currents are mounted in heat sink housings. This allows for efficient heat dissipation, which is essential for good temperature stability. In addition to these positive properties, the resistors feature a low-capacitance and low-inductance design.

Resistors for high test currents and low test voltages are designed using four-wire technology. This means they have separate current and voltage paths. This allows the resistors to be used as shunts with high accuracy. The current flow is calculated using a voltage drop measurement and an external calibration device. Only in this way can optimal use as a calibration resistor be guaranteed.

To enable corresponding conversions of the measured values ​​taking into account the resistance value, the calibration resistors are supplied together with the specification of the resistance value in the factory calibration certificate.
