The GLP1-g – innovative, versatile, and compact

The GLP1-g’s robust and compact design ensures high performance and reliability. To match the tester’s capabilities, we integrate the technology into a rugged industrial enclosure specifically designed for this class of equipment.

For optimal performance, the viewing angle can be easily adjusted to suit individual work situations. Whether sitting or standing, tall or short—the display’s viewing height, the test device’s controls, and the connection point for the test object are always perfectly tailored to the user.

The integration of up to 9 test methods into a single compact device is unique in this class. The GLP1-g provides a clear and concise overview of the tests. Its intuitive user interface makes day-to-day testing much easier. The easy-to-read touchscreen is seamlessly integrated into the front panel and offers all the functionality you would expect from a modern testing device today.

The housing options are very flexible. The front panel features the base with the test socket, as well as sockets for test probes and high-voltage test guns.

For integration into automated test systems or for expansion, additional connectors—such as the 10-pin test connector—can be added to the rear of the device. This makes it easy to connect universal junction boxes, test enclosures, or cables for automation.

Depending on the configuration, the device dimensions are based on a rugged and compact ½ 19″ or 19″ enclosure.

The testing software

With the GLP1-g, you always have all relevant measurement values at a glance. The clear presentation of test results enables structured and thus efficient work and simplifies the subsequent analysis of individual tests.

Display Options

Depending on the device model, there are generally two different display modes during the test:

For testers with only one test method, the results are displayed using a bar graph and a numerical readout.

Testing devices that combine two or more test methods display a test plan showing the individual test steps as the result.

Protective conductor resistance

The test display shows the measured values, the test current, and the test duration. 

Insulation resistance

The results are displayed as a bar graph with additional tolerance ranges and as numerical values. The insulation resistance, test voltage, and test duration are displayed.

High voltage

The display consists of a bar graph with additional tolerance ranges and numerical values. The test voltage, test current, and test duration are displayed.

Alternatively, the display can be switched to an analog view. In some applications, this is advantageous because it improves readability.

Multifunction device

On a multifunction tester, all test steps are listed one below the other. During the test, a yellow horizontal bar indicates the active test step. Tests that have already been completed are marked either in green for "OK" or in red for "failed." For high-voltage tests with a ramp, the ramp profile is also displayed graphically.

Once the test is complete, the overall result is shown on the display as a green or red box. In addition, the individual results of each test step are listed.

The menu – simple and intuitive

The various operating settings are simple and clearly organized: You can load and edit test plans, adjust test parameters, or change the device's default settings. Operating the device via the touchscreen is straightforward.

An integrated help function provides a detailed explanation for each test parameter and setting. Thanks to the automatic validity check performed after each entry, you can always be sure that every test parameter or setting you enter falls within the device’s technical limits. This ensures an error-free and reliable testing process.

To access the menu, click the "Menu" button.

Select the desired activity from the main menu. You can load and edit test plans, set test parameters, configure basic settings, or view statistics.

Here, you can name, save, load, or delete test plans. Click the "Parameters" button to access the parameter selection.

Use the red frame to select the parameter you want to edit or change. To edit the parameter, click the "Edit" button.

Automatic test method switching and mechatronics

SCHLEICH's testing technology has proven itself countless times in daily use. It is among the most reliable products on the market and offers outstanding performance and accuracy. The goal must be to conduct tests quickly and efficiently. Only this ensures high utility value.

To save time, all terminals of the test object are connected via the test socket or appropriate test leads. The tester then performs the tests fully automatically between all terminals without the need for time-consuming reconnection of leads. A typical test object for the GLP1-g has a mains connection with L, N, and PE.

The automatic test method switching feature automatically applies the appropriate test methods to the connectors and test probes. The switching mechanism is integrated to match the type and capabilities of the tester. This ensures quick and automatic switching between the different test methods.

Because the voltage differences between the test methods can be very high, safety is the top priority during switchovers. A protective conductor resistance test with 12 V must be connected to the test object just as reliably as a high-voltage test with 6000 V – for the protection of your test object and, of course, for the protection of the operator. There are no compromises here! That is why we only use proven, high-quality components from our own production and from well-known German manufacturers for switchovers and dies.

Test Methods

Protective conductor resistance test

The protective conductor is tested using an electronically controlled, constant test current. The tester calculates the protective conductor resistance based on the voltage drop across the protective conductor and the current flowing through it. This resistance must not exceed the maximum resistance specified in the standards. Using a test probe (to be ordered separately), the operator scans the protective conductor connections to be tested one after another on the test object. The test is performed between the PE contact in the test socket and the test probe.

Insulation Resistance Test

The insulation test is performed using an electronically controlled, constant test voltage. The tester calculates the insulation resistance based on the voltage drop across the insulation and the current flowing through it. This value must not fall below the minimum resistance specified in the standards. The insulation resistance can be measured both between all electrical conductors (Class I devices) and between the electrical conductors and insulated housing parts (Class II devices). The operator uses the test probe to scan the housing parts to be tested one after another. At the end of the test, the test object is always discharged.

DC High-Voltage Test

The high-voltage test is performed using an electronically controlled, constant high voltage. During the test, the test current must not exceed a specified maximum value. If the current rises above the maximum value, the test is automatically terminated. At the end of the test, the test object is always discharged.

AC High-Voltage Test

The insulation test is performed using an electronically controlled, constant high voltage. During the test, the test current must not exceed a specified maximum value. If the current exceeds the maximum value, the test is automatically terminated. At the end of the test, the test object is always discharged.

Functional test

The functional test of your test object is performed at operating voltage based on the current consumption, power factor, and/or power consumption of the test object. Target values and ± tolerances can be specified for each measured parameter. If the measured electrical value falls within the tolerance, the test result is OK. The test voltage for the functional test is generated electronically within the test device.

The test report with PrintCom

Free PC software for saving and printing test results

PrintCom is the simple and efficient solution for saving test results and printing test reports. Test results can be saved and printed inExcel®or, alternatively, inOpenOffice® Calc.

The PrintCom PC software is included with the tester. The tester has a built-in memory for test results. PrintCom can read this memory after each test or at a later time. PrintCom saves the test results on the PC and allows you to print a test report.

Import, display, and print test results.

Digital logging is a breeze with this software: It quickly transfers test data via the serial interface and displays it in a clear, organized format on your PC. Print the test report directly for your customers or save it as a PDF to help protect the environment.

Online mode

In online mode, the testing device is continuously connected to a PC, and PrintCom is running. As soon as a new test result is generated after a test, it is immediately transmitted to the PC and stored there. Once all tests are complete, the collected results are saved.

Offline mode

Alternatively, the testing device can temporarily store the test results. This allows you to load and save the test results in PrintCom at a later time.

Network

By configuring the save path accordingly in PrintCom, you can, of course, also saveExcel® files to a network location.

Manual inspection | Inspection station – Repair station – Laboratory

The unique manual mode allows you to apply all test methods integrated into the tester directly by hand whenever needed. No prior configuration of the tests is required. Simply select the desired test method and start your test. Similar to a multimeter, the software always displays the current measurement values. This allows you to evaluate your test object immediately and in full detail.

Long-term analyses spanning hours, days, and weeks can also be carried out without any problems in this operating mode.

Semi-automatic inspection | Manufacturing

A typical test in production can be done manually via test probes or partially/fully automatically. The GLP1-g is precisely suitable for these applications due to its flexibility and convenient user guidance. For the testing of different test objects, up to 1000 test sequences can be stored in the GLP1-g. These can be started directly via the integrated touch display.

Fully Automated Testing | Mass Production

The GLP1-g integrates seamlessly into your production line. The unit’s dimensions are based on a ½ 19″ or 19″ enclosure, allowing the tester to fit perfectly into your system. Additional flexible interfaces enable convenient remote control. Connecting the unit to a control computer or PLC is easy to implement.

You can store up to 1,000 test sequences for different test objects. You can access these directly via the interface and then start the test. All test results are available via the interface and can thus be stored in a central database via the control computer. Additionally, it is possible to save the test results locally on the test device or directly on the computer network.
