Test devices for the sense of rotation
The sense of rotation test is carried out on electric motors. The test can be carried out both on the fully assembled Motor as well as on the stator .
The examination on Motor is carried out with a wide variety of speed direction sensors. For example, retroreflective light barriers or encoders can be used.
The test on the stator is performed with static sensors to detect the sense of rotation of the magnetic field.
Key Facts:
- Sense of rotation on the stator
- Contactless without rotating parts
- For asynchronous and synchronous Motors
- sense of rotation of the wave on the Motor
- Contactless by means of optical scanning
- By direct measurement on the shaft
- Through potentially existing rotary encoders, all types of encoders, resolvers, …
- Often also in combination with a speed measurement
The sense of rotation test on the electric motor
Depending on the test requirement, various methods are available:
Remanence
The Motor shaft is rotated manually. The phase sequence is determined from the three-phase voltage generated by remanence – and thus the sense of rotation.
Typical for: MotorAnalyzer
Speed and sense of rotation sensor
The electric motor is energized and runs. The sense of rotation and speed of the Motor shaft are measured with sensors.
Typical for: EOL-Tester GLP3
Stray field measurement
The electric motor is energized and runs. The externally measurable stray field of the Motor provides information about the sense of rotation.
Typical for: EOL-Tester GLP3
Acceleration analysis
During the start-up phase, the sense of rotation is determined via the acceleration direction.
Typical for: EOL-Tester GLP3
The sense of rotation Test on the stator
Depending on the motor type, different methods are used:
Asynchronous motor
The sense of rotation is determined using a static Hall element sensor.
Typical for: MotorAnalyzer, MTC3
Synchronous motor
Here, static Hall element sensors detect the magnetic fields of the poles and from this, derive the sense of rotation.
Typical for: MotorAnalyzer, MTC3
