Safety of transportable motor-operated electric tools

VDE-classification: VDE 0740

This testing standard, consisting of part 1 and 2, applies for electroc-motoric or magnetically-driven tools to be operated indoors or outdooes with following characteristics:
a) easily-movable by one person, simple devices may be integrated to facilitate the transport as e.g. handles, wheels or similar
b) Operation in a safe, stationary position with or without fixing, as e.g. quick clampening devices, screws or similar
c) Operation under operator´s control
d) not intended for serial- or assembly line production
e) intended for electric supply by connection lead and plug
f) for maximum rated voltages up to 250 V 1-phase, AC current or 440 V 3-phase AC
g) max. rated consumption up to 2.500 W for 1-phase AC current or DC-current and 4.000 W for 3-phase AC.
