It may happen that large test objects cannot be test cover in a test cover . Nevertheless, the test may have to be carried out with dangerous TEST VOLTAGE without appropriate safety current limitation.

Examples of this are:

Large motors
Control cabinets
Large transformers

If the test, which poses a risk to persons, cannot run with safety test guns, two-hand operation must be used. In this case, two control elements (buttons) must be actuated synchronously with both hands within a period of 0–0.5 seconds. Activation of the control elements with one hand or other parts of the body is prevented by sufficient distance, partition walls, or other design measures.

An evaluation device approved by the employers' liability insurance association continuously checks whether this condition is met. If this is the case, the evaluation device triggers the start of the test device. As a rule, both two-hand buttons must be pressed continuously throughout the entire test duration. Releasing a control element prematurely will cancel test.

In principle, two-hand operation only protects the person operating it. Therefore, additional measures such as barriers are recommended.

The two-hand control is mounted on a stand here. During testing, personnel must maintain a sufficient safety distance.
