Pneumatic terminals

Automatic pneumatic quick terminals

In production, pneumatic cable terminals are used to quickly connect free, stripped cable ends. For this purpose, the wire strand to be contacted is inserted into a bore of the terminal approximately one centimeter deep. At the bottom of the bore is a movable valve plate. As soon as this is slightly depressed by the wire strand, the built-in valve triggers, and a clamping cylinder in the terminal presses against the wire strand. This establishes the contact. To release the contact, a black push button is located on the terminal.

Any number of terminals can be easily operated via a compressed air supply. If the entire compressed air supply is interrupted, all terminals open simultaneously. This is ideal for simultaneously and quickly opening all contact points after the test is completed.

Quick and efficient contacting.

For specialized applications, multiple terminals can be embedded in a terminal block. This allows for a compact arrangement of terminals with high insulation. A common valve enables all Connections of a group of cable terminals to be released simultaneously by a single signal.

Contacting is performed using two-wire technology. Due to the contact resistance in the terminal, ohmic resistances smaller than 1–10 Ω can no longer be reliably measured. For small resistances, Kelvin clamps or Kelvin test tongs using four-wire technology should therefore be used.
