The partial discharge simulator is the ideal solution for verifying partial discharge measuring systems in combination with the surge test. It specifically generates partial discharges that must be reliably detected by the measuring device. The discharges occur precisely at the moment the set peak voltage is reached. This precisely verifies both the partial discharge detection system and the voltage measurement.
Functionality:
The simulator is connected in parallel to the device under test. During the test, it detects the peak values of the voltage. As soon as the limit value is reached, the PD simulator generates a broadband pulse that is reliably detected by partial discharge measuring systems with antenna detection. Settings are conveniently made via the built-in touch display.
