The user interface
Based on the Windows 11® PC, the large touchscreen, and the resulting technical capabilities, the user interface is even more informative and operator-friendly than ever before. Our engineers have consistently utilized all modern features of the Windows 11® operating system. The result is a clear, uncluttered display that is truly impressive.
In addition to the standard software functions, a test plan revision, including extensive test plan history management, has been built-in. New or modified test plans can be approved according to the four-eyes principle. Test plans are approved by a controller, not by the test plan creator.

The Input
To edit the test steps, they are simply called up. The test parameters can be easily changed, and the test sequence can be adapted to the test task. All inputs are automatically checked for plausibility. Operating a cumbersome test plan editor is not necessary. For each test parameter, informative explanations for the respective test parameter can be displayed by clicking the question mark button.
The test parameters are visible to every operator but can only be changed by authorized persons.
The Data
The GLP2 stores test plans and test results either locally or on a shared network drive. Storage is file-based. We recommend networking the test devices. This offers significant advantages.
Optionally, the Technology Package in the network offers the possibility to use an MS-SQL memory for storage.
The Scripts
The script language provides an easy-to-understand and very powerful tool for the customization and specific adaptation of the GLP2.
This offers the following advantages:
- Custom adaptations by the operator
- Sequence control as in a PLC
- Adaptation to complex barcode content
- and much more
Project examples
Fully automatic, robot-controlled luminaire test station
Price-sensitive products are increasingly manufactured in automated production cells. The illustration shows a production cell with a central robot and 4 processing/test stations.
Production is carried out by the robot, which performs various handling and screwing tasks. In between, intermediate tests are performed at the various workstations by a central test device.
After the complete assembly of the luminaire, the final test is performed. All safety, function, and quality tests are performed fully automatically by the GLP2-MODULAR. For the quality test of the often very bright LED modules, cameras with different lenses and aperture settings are used. This is the only way to detect differences in brightness and color between various LEDs.

Test system for construction power distributors
Testing of Construction Power Distributors – Simple to Complex.
A construction power distributor can be very simply constructed – or extremely complex. The example shown illustrates a model with numerous Connections, different plug formats, and variable current strengths.
During testing, the following points are checked:
- Electrical safety – protective earth conductor and insulation resistance as well as high voltage test
- Function of fuses and RCDs – Testing of the correct tripping behavior of the RCDs
- General electrical function, such as the correct phase assignment
The automatic test system features an extensive Connection panel.
The built-in matrix automatically switches the various test methods to the test points of the construction power distributor. This enables a fully automatic complete test – fast, safe, and reliable.

Manual / semi-automatic luminaire testing
Demanding Luminaire Testing – More Than Just safety
The testing of luminaires can be very demanding. In addition to classic safety tests, additional function tests are performed.
For modern LED luminaires, the function test includes, among other things:
- Analysis of the color spectrum of the LEDs
- Verification of each individual LED in the luminaire field
- Inspection of the optics mounted in front of the LEDs
The complete dimming behavior for regulating color and light intensity is also part of the scope of services offered by SCHLEICH and a fully equipped luminaire tester.
Naturally, at the end of the test, labels also need to be printed and test results sent to MES or SAP®.
