Precision for verifying measurement technology.

For calibrating test devices, in addition to precise calibration measuring devices and sources, calibration resistors are also required. These are used to allow Test currents to flow during the various test methods. This process verifies the extent to which the voltage and current readings displayed by the test device to be calibrated match the readings of the external calibration measuring device.

Naturally, minor deviations within a percentage tolerance are always permitted. The allowed deviations for each test method are specified in our calibration forms.

The calibration resistors are characterized by high precision, as well as high temperature and long-term stability. Calibration resistors for high Test currents are mounted in heat sink housings. This ensures that the heat generated during high Test currents and prolonged measurements is dissipated effectively, which is a prerequisite for good temperature stability. In addition to these positive properties, the resistors feature a low Capacitance and inductance design.

Resistors for high Test currents and low test voltages are designed with four-wire technology. This means they have separate current and voltage paths, allowing the resistors to be used as a shunt with high accuracy. The flowing current is calculated using a voltage drop measurement and an external calibration measuring device. This is the only way to ensure optimal use as a calibration resistor.

To enable corresponding conversions of measured values, taking into account the resistance value, the calibration resistors are supplied with the specified resistance value in the factory calibration certificate.
