Precision for checking measurement technology.

In addition to precise calibration measuring devices and sources, calibration resistors are also required for calibrating test equipment. These are used to allow test currents to flow during the various test methods. This checks the extent to which the voltage and current measurements displayed by the test equipment to be calibrated correspond to the measurements of the external calibration measuring device.

Of course, minor deviations within a percentage tolerance are always permitted. The permitted deviations are specified in our calibration forms for the various test methods.

The calibration resistors are characterized by high precision and high temperature and long-term stability. Calibration resistors for high test currents are mounted in heat sink housings. This allows the heat generated during high test currents and prolonged measurements to be dissipated effectively. This is a prerequisite for good temperature stability. In addition to these positive characteristics, the resistors have a low-capacitance and low-inductance design.

Resistors for high test currents and low test voltages are four-wire technology using four-wire technology . This means that they have separate current and voltage paths. This allows the resistors to be used as high-precision shunts. The flowing current is calculated using a voltage drop measurement and an external calibration measuring device. This is the only way to ensure optimal use as a calibration resistor.

To enable the corresponding conversions of the measured values to be made, taking into account the resistance value, the calibration resistors are supplied together with the resistance value specification in the factory calibration certificate.
