Multifunction test devices for electric motors and windings
Multifunction test devices combine several test methods in one device. At SCHLEICH, a built-in test method switch-over in the multifunction test device is also standard. This automatically switches the various test methods in a test sequence to the required test connections.
Your Advantage
You only need to connect the device under test once, then the multifunction device automatically tests all required test steps sequentially. This saves time, reduces errors, and makes the test process more efficient.

Good to know:
Multifunction test devices
Multifunction test device vs. single test device – What is the difference?
The decisive difference lies in the test scope and functionality.
Multifunction test devices
- Ideal for applications where multiple test methods are to be combined in one system.
- Typical combinations:
- Resistance test + insulation test + high voltage test + surge test + partial discharge test + …
- Ideally suited for:
- End-of-line test benches
- Series production
- Automation
- Laboratories
- Advantages:
- Higher acquisition costs, but more economical than several single test devices
- Central test sequence control and documentation.
- No external PLC required
- Maximum efficiency through fast, automated test sequences
- Integration of automatic test method switch-over
- Integration of automatic measurement channel switch-over
- High flexibility
- More space-saving than multiple individual test devices
Individual test devices
- Ideal for applications where only one test method (e.g., Resistance test) is required.
- Suitable for:
- Manual testing with test probes
- Automation
- Laboratories
- Advantages:
- Low acquisition costs
- Easy operation
- Compact design
- Disadvantage:
- For multiple test methods, a separate test device is required for each.
